Chef notes
I love tuna salad and I'm proud of it. Anyone who actively goes out of their way to hate on canned tuna needs to find a new hobby. I've been trying to master my tuna recipe for years, and I finally achieved greatness with this one. To me, a harmonious tuna sandwich has a balance of creaminess, brine, zest and tang. The tuna salad itself has a wide variety of mix-ins, from pepperoncini to shredded carrot and basil. Butter lettuce and slightly sweet pickles create a fresh crunch between the soft sourdough, with salt-and-vinegar chips to serve, naturally. Don't forget to garnish your sandwiches! I like a skewer of pepperoncini on top.
Technique tip: If you want a little extra crunch, add the chips directly onto the sandwich!
