Refreshing and crisp, this is one of the best ways to enjoy rum. The homemade ginger beer balances the sweet spice of Jamaican rum perfectly — far better than the store bought stuff. This is Jamaica in a glass and our favorite cocktail next to rum and coconut water.
While our maternal grandmother kept a jug of fresh brown sugar lemonade in her fridge at all times, our paternal grandmother, Manga, always had fresh ginger beer and everytime we would visit this was our libation of choice with some water crackers with cheese and homemade marmalade.
